flashing someone in just lets that driver know that he is clear to pull in, i count to 10 then flash him in.if you can’t be bothered to flash someone in then i can’t be bothered with your poll.
Blimey kitkat you must be a quick counter, most are back in before I could count as far as ten.
yes thats true, but the good drivers out there will be counting as well, let’s face it b4 they had mirrors on trucks, buses what ever, you had to count to make sure you had that gap b4 you pulled in

10 seconds !, I wish! about 10 milliseconds is about the norm as far as I can see.
So you wont have voted then Kitkat? As for me, I still wont be flashing nobody in, unless the conditions are bad and warrant it.

Thats right, id also just say that the good drivers dont need flashing in under normal conditions either!

I consider it more important for vehicles being overtaken to back off slightly allowing a gap to be created rather than keeping the boot down and leaving said overtaking v ehicle in the 2nd lane for 2 or 3 miles.
Exactomundo Geezer, I do that all the time, a lot more help and better for safety.

from the other posts I think I must be the biggest flasher on here.
I’ve always treated it as a courtesy thing between professional drivers
along with flashing your headlights to oncoming traffic with a thumbs down signal to warn of a police/vosa/camera ahead.
I’ll flash in 18+ tonne rigids and artics if I’m in the mood and if they haven’t already pulled in. What they’re doing getting past me in the first place is beyond me though in my 380hp Pride-of-the-Fleet FH12
I don’t require flashing in after overtaking something as I know the length of my truck thanks, and also how much gap to be safe, however I will acknowledge the flash by a quick flick of the left indicator after normal indication but won’t acknowledge any flashing if I’ve been held up unnecessarily in the overtaking lane
I have no problem with wagons that don’t flash me in. I think it’s a case of “please notice my shiny truck and vast light array” much of the time, where the cap fits.
Those fuel artics that creep up Windy Hill at 15mph that flash you in when you zoom past at 56mph make me laugh. What’s the point
I always flash my fellow work mates going the other way though and always put my own light array to good use on unlit roads at night, especially when there’s a merkin coming the other way with full beam on who doesn’t realise that pulling the lever a second time also turns them off as well.

Yeah Rob it’s ludicrous aint it ! Oh, and whats a “merkin”■■ apart from it sounds funny!
Mal.
A merkin is a pubic wig for women but I don’t think that is the way Rob meant it, I mean a merkin on full beam sounds a scary thing to me.
