Fixed Penalty Notice Vosa

meagain:
it just seems to come back to what i was told years ago by a dutch friend , britain is a very strange country -they seem to kick their own people in the nuts every chance they get but just wave and encourage foreigners to do whatever,

never a truer word… :imp:

I think this a very petty offence but then again why did the driver not apply grease to it?

Because it’s not his job to these days?

and do these people run the most reliable cars in the world , where nothing breaks or seizes up on route ■■
they have no mechanical knowledge or sympathy in the real world , but then again they do not live in the ral world do they

Sadly it does sound to me like you got the stroppy VOSA man on a friday afternoon that wanted to nick somebody for something. Targets are everything these days, even if they fly in the face of common sense.
Ok there was a problem with the trailer, but the driver could get it to work. The same would go with a blown bulb, it could blow on route after the daily check. Okay the truck isn’t fully working by the letter of the law, but if it’s pointed out to the driver and he can replace the bulb then and there surely that should be okay.

There is another factor at play here, there are those of us who like to ‘live & let live’ and get on with there lives in a fair and peacefull manner.

Unfortunately, there are a small number of officious, snide & just thoroughly nasty horrible people in life who like & want nothing more in life than to “p1ss on other peoples chips” (as we say in Liverpool) or “rain on their parade” however you wish to call it, these types love nothing more than to ruin someones day. The vast majority of these people end up as traffic wardens having tried (and failed!!!) to get into the police force, they are simply scum who hand out their tickets whilst saying “if you hadn’t parked there I wouldn’t have had to write you a ticket”!!! & those that don’t make it into the trafic warden job follow a carreer path with VOSA.

We’ve all met this guy, whether it be the “wait in your wagon driver, we’ll get to you in the next day or two” bloke in the freight office, or the VOSA guy nicking you for a gummed up trailer brake ratchet they’re all the same type. Some people like to say NO!!! and this person loves nothing better than to get into a job which gives them the power to say it to lots of people.

I regularly (in my current job) visit the VOSA test stations at Kirkby & Bromborough and most of the guys are OK, a few are proper decent blokes with plenty of common sense but a small number are (the above mentioned) “bottom feeders”!!! Anyone who’s been to Bromborough over tha last couple of years might have met the skinny little bloke with bad teeth and a ‘Catweazel’ beard, if you have you will probably know he fits perfectly into the above specification, a low life.

Ross.

PEE"d with power most of them, and most are in my eyes are failed wanna a be coppers!!! what couldnt make the grade to be one,
its a joke what is going on here
people need to stand up to them and fight it but us been typical Brits we just roll over and take it up the rear!! people need to stand up to vosa!!! god i hate them

Folks in this country are too chicken to stand up to anyone. Mind you, I suppose you can’t blame them when you slap a burglar and get sent down for it.

It really is time that WE reminded the powers that be, that we are their employers and are entitled to be treated fairly or we will take over the job ourselves.
