Fitting cb to a scannia

Hi guys, anyone fitted a cb to a 56 plate scannia r420.
Any help would be appriciated. Thanx

If its any help I just stuck a mag mount on and ran the coax through the sun roof everything else is there and saves drilling holes. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

I’m fairly sure there is 12v already supplied to the spaces above your head next to the tacho… then just run your co-ax through the door rubber to a mirror mount. MAKE SURE IT IS 12V THOUGH…

An easy way to check if it’s 12v/24v is to connect the wires to a 24v break light bulb.
If the light is dim, it’s 12v.

Mag mount is the way, you get a far stronger ground. There is usually a 12v socket in all Scania’s from what I remember.

Not fitted one in a while BUT
there usual is a 12v source beside the radio and a section of co-ax and if you go to the front of the roof there should be a rubber gromet witch holds the other end of the co-ax you will need to put PL Plugs (think thats what there called ■■?) on it to conect .

One thing I would say is it all depends on what antenna you intend to use.

If you intend to put out a good powerful signal, you’ll need to use a decent whip, all of which are too long in my opinion to put anywhere other than the back of the cab, using a mag-mount or drilling a hole.
