First shift friday night

Also.
That print out is meant to be for the previous 24 hours or did I read that wrong and i’t just for a 24 hour period meaning that day?

I got a little traffic on the M5 back from Bristol.
Then getting from an Sowton industrial estate across the inner bypass to the other side of exeter.
To be fair it wasn’t their fault. I chose the wrong route. I had an hour to go from my last drop back to the depot which is probably about 7 miles.
I came down to the motorway roundabout and the M5 was stationary southbound so I thought I’d sneak round the bypass which is a shorter but not so easy route.
And once you’re commited to the bypass, there’s no turning back in an artic.

I’ll be honest that always catch’s me out as I work nights so it crosses over 2 days and for the life I cant remember  I’ll check tonight unless someone can remember

Yep that bit down Exeter is a pain at that time and yep that new bit of road can be as bad as the motorway … Thank heavens I do nights

If you’re local then you’ll know it.
Had to get from Sowton to Peamore.
Had a 30 on Sowton so I could then run 10hr drive.
Came down to Sandygate and would have got on and nipped back over the bridge at the bottom of Haldon and straight back into the depot.
But M5 was stationary so thought I’d nip past Exeter chiefs and past Marsh Barton. That was worse :frowning:

I started at 10pm on the friday and this was all saturday lunchtime. Driving anywhere at that time of day on a bank holiday is bad news…

You say you ended up doing 15.5 hours that day, your printout shows you did 12hours 20. Take it your card did not go in straight away.

If you do a printout when the card is ejected it does a printout for the entire shift.

However if you do a 24 hour printout at any other time it’s for a 24 hour period starting at midnight, so as you did the printout before ejecting the card you got a printout starting at midnight until the time of the printout rather than a printout for the entire shift.

So am I right in saying then when you do a printout that goes over two days ie. 11pm start 10am finish, When selecting printout you select no when it asks if you want 24 hour printout.

When you eject the card you only have the choice of a 24 hour printout from the driver card so if you press no you won’t get a printout at-all.

If you do a printout at any other time you have the choice of a 24 hour printout of activities or a printout of events.

Got ya. Thought that would be the case. So if going over two days which printout should you do?

Either do a printout when ejecting the card or do two printouts.

If you choose to do two printouts, lets say you start at 22:00 Monday and do a printout just before finishing work at 08:00 Tuesday, do a printout for Mondays date and one for Tuesdays date.

Well.
I think I may have made a mistake when doing the printout. Think I said no to something then pressed more buttons and got a printout.
Either way. I did start at 10pm on friday. Card went in about 10 past once I’d filled in all the H&S forms :unamused:
Card didn;t come out again till 1:30pm the next day…
I reckon that’s 15.5 hours…

Must reread my CPC digitacho notes…

as Tach said I did one this morning …when removing card it’ll ask 24hr print out push ok it’ll do a whole 24hrs…
Do it next shift and have a look at the print out. they come out ■■■ backwards , you’ll understand it when you see it

It’s along time since I’ve done one so I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly the printout you do when ejecting the driver card will show the whole of the current shift and any work you did yesterday morning starting at 00:00.

I assume you wasn’t at work yesterday morning so it wouldn’t apply but If you do it tomorrow I think that’s what you’ll get, makes for a loooooooooong printout though :open_mouth:

yep …
it did the whole of the hours 00:00 to 05:15 25/8/14… the start of the shift 21:30 to 00:00 24/8/14 and the part shift from 00:00 to 05:45 24/8/14 which showed the time between rests and the diff vehicles
