First new SCB tipper trailer with UK operator

is here

Bet Fruehauf will be looking over their shoulder nervously.

I think so.

They’ve had a few unhappy customers in recent years

Just wondering what it weighs compared to other makes.

That one won’t be light, because it’s quite thick steel.

Tare weight in that spec is 7.6 tonnes +/-3%, according to the importer.

Body capacity 32.2 cu m.

Not too bad, then.

For the short-haul fairly rufty-tufty end of the market it’s about right.

Be interesting to see how disc brakes do on that trailer…for many years people said they were no good on tippers because of the debris getting into the calipers and also between the pads and discs.

Had a look at the rest of the tipping trailers available in the scb range and I was impressed , I would like to look at one of the aluminium bulk trailers close up as they looked very smart and according to the spec sheets very light,6 tonnes for a bulker is worth a look!

Don’t have much bother with debris as much as wheel washes in quarry’s when discs are warm/hot , cold water ,hot metal ,crack!

I thought it was quite thin; The Thompson Stonemaster is 7mm and my Muckmaster is 8mm. Why such a big body though? 8w muckshifters are only 15m3 so surely no more than 20-25m3 for an artic?
