Hi all, had first interview for job today since passing, and can happily share with everyone I got it and start Monday. So pleased. don’t know what im in for but time will tell or you all will…its a skip company 
What your in for is probably nothing like what they told you at your interview!
Mine said everyone finishes around 16:00 to 16:30, ️love to know bloody how as I’ve not been getting back till after 17:00, 18:15 today. And I took my breaks properly, rest was traipsing all over doing drops and a few pick ups. Nothing’s ever ready.
But I really enjoy it haha.
Skips then is it, what type of waste does the firm do?

Thanks for reply, all types of waste I guess from household to bars restaurants etc
Should be nice and varied then. Just don’t become one of those skippies that don’t cover and have bits flying off here there and everywhere!
Other than that take it as it comes and enjoy it. Well done for getting the job. Did they do an assessment or was it just a babble interview?

Babble…i am with a younger bloke next week, im not driving, dont know when I will be though.
Tell him you want to drive half/half, he should be ok with it. Your going to drive eventually so straight in, tell them that.
I had a person out with me on my first few days. We set off out yard, got round corner and he pulls up, looks at me and says ’ why aren’t you driving ?’ “Because TM says I’ve to watch you so you can show me how firm works” me replies

We did have a good laugh over next few days.

Well done on getting the job, I remember starting on skips aswell, done 1 day out with the driver, he done the 1st, I done the rest, best way, you will soon pick it up, we done rubble n top soil, handy enough, but can get busy! Just have your wits about you and you will be fine! It’s not all that bad
