first job interview

Hi all so as in the subject above I have my first Class C job interview since passing my test. Its with Bookers in Glasgow. I have been through all the posts on the search bar. Is it as bad as they are making out? I know there will be a lot of handballing with badly stacked cages and possibly some pallets. I understand all has to be broken down and cages returned. is there anyone that has recently worked for them or still does? I am resisting the agency route as I cant give up a f/t post in the NHS for an agency post that if its to believed will soon slow down after the Christmas rush until feb/march?
im looking for any hints, tips or information on the job or even the interview process. I have been in my present job for nearly 15 years so its been a while since my last interview, Its Booker in Glasgow
Cheers
Paul

No need to worry , you will get the job.
Arrive early for the interview to allow for delays on the way there .
There maybe a tacho rules and working time test, multiple choice questions.
He or she will brief you on their health safety rules on site and at customers .

There maybe a short test drive after the interview at a later date or the same day.
The job is physical work, down pub and hotel cellars.
Some customers will be rude to you but don’t bite.
As soon as you leave they will moan to your boss and twist your words .

Just don’t take any crap if they moan or make you wait too long just ask if they want to refuse it.

Bookers is the same as brakes/bidvest etc hard graft handball food BUT its always good to be on your CV that your willing to do that kind of work.
Did 3 years at brakes Foodservice it is hard graft but if you get a regular run you get to know your customers by first name, like I did have the customers mobile number and could ring them and arrange a delivery to suit you if your having a mad day(or ending up sleeping with a chef who was rather pretty to say the least lol ).
On a driving point as its your first driving job will sharpen your reversing and getting in and out of stupid places but all experience is good experience.

Jeff.

Interview - imagine them naked. In fact turn up naked if you want to make a stand out impression.

Did a bit of booker on agency, wouldn’t be so bad but some of the shops expect you to put all the stock in the various locations they need to be in the store. Rest of it was okay lugging cages about was decent exercise.

Thanks for the replies, so I went this morning and met 1 of the managers and had a good talk with him, it went as well as I could have hoped, they got 19 applicants in 2 hours so they closed it, I was just happy to get an interview. The only down side is it will be into January before they make a decision on who gets it. I hope that the fact I don’t have experience in class C doesn’t go against me, but whatever happens I will use as experience and if not successful I will ask for feedback regarding my interview. I am a believer of what’s for you won’t go by you, so chin up and see what happens. I will let yous know what the outcome is,
Cheers Paul
