First driverless bus had a prang in its first 2 hours lol

Although a truck driver has been blamed.

We’ve got a long way to go. Although the cynic in me half believes this may have been staged to justify pushing this technology onto lorries more quickly. The article states:

Unfortunately the delivery truck did not stop and grazed the front fender of the shuttle. Had the truck had the same sensing equipment that the shuttle has, the accident would have been avoided

The truck driver was blamed because he hit a stationary vehicle and got a ticket for it.

Say if a human was driving the bus, he would have either a) anticipated the situation and stop earlier to give it more room, b) blast his horn, c) reverse, d) swerve around the truck.

I’m glad the computer did nothing and allow the bus full of people to get hit, I really am.
