First day tomorrow!

It handles well, plenty of power up the hills never dropped speed once going uphill compared to the merc where you were dropping to 40 on the slightest incline and it had just as heavy load on it! The mirrors I found were a bit of a blind spot when trying to look for a gap to go at a roundabout I found

Getting a DAF on Sunday for a tip/reload at Sheffield, looking forward to that very much as I didn’t get much of a run in the daf I had on assessment. Although I was slightly confused, I was told to load/reload Sheffield and get back to the yard if I could, don’t see why I wouldn’t get back unless its a really crap tip and reload. Or unless they think I’m dead slow

Will see, I’ll see next week what I really feel about it though as ive only had a part week, full week of it next week!

Cheers

How does that Volvo handle? I was driving a MAN for Co-op today and my god does the turning circle ■■■■ on them.

I’ve driven MAN rigids before - a 61 plate 18 tonner, the cab was a nice place to be but you are right about the turning circle. So bad that too my embarrassment I had to take a shunt to get around a pretty simple corner at some lights in Scarborough, it completely caught me out.

Well done mate. Good to see you are now up and running in the road transport industry. I’ve always enjoyed looking at your photos on the Internet.

I’m on with other company on Monday. I wonder what I’ll be driving. Hoping it something that’s not been thrashed.

Cheers Chris, I’m gonna be doing a diary of my birthday stitch up tomorrow :smiling_imp: Was supposed to be a simple tip & reload at Sheffield but looks to be a city centre drop with restrictions in place making it so that I cant get done early. Not that I’m complaining paid by the hour and all that but I don’t like hanging about I prefer to be cracking on getting the job done!

And radar go on how I do, so long as it goes and its road worthy and cleanish (preferably limited to 56 ) jobs a good en. I’ve learned in the time I’ve been in the office not to ask where your going as chances are it’ll change when it comes to starting up again  Just an idea of where your heading for is good enough.

Cheers

Some of the loading bays at the Co-op stores near me. “You want me to get that in there?!”

My drops were listed. It was down to me what order I did them in. Only problem is, they listed the stores as numbers not actual names. Not good if you are a new driver! I lost count how many times I got lost!

I wouldn’t worry too much, it took me 6 round trips of the same bit in Keighley to get to my last collection! Didn’t think to go the next left after the turning towards the yard  Didn’t half feel stupid! Made up for it with two blind side reverses though :sunglasses:

Was back in the yard and parked up on 4 hours 27 drive. Was quite proud of that one :sunglasses:

Blind side reverses? In a rigid?

Did you smash your n/s mirror off on that UPS lorry or something?

Totally mate. Wiped it clean as well just so I didn’t feel too bad about making his merc dirty :unamused:

Blindside reverse in a rigid?..you on Stobarts?

You know that feeling when you drive past your drop and there is no place to turn around.

Well done Jonny, nice to see abit of enthusiasm instead of moaning. Good luck to you and wish you all the best in your driving career. Nice to have an old school attitude in a younghead. Sure you will do well.
