Drove past an agency that I used to do quite a bit of work for, and I noticed that they have shut up shop. Theyve not contacted me for a while, and the last work I did for them was 1 day over Xmas. They were quite a busy agency back in the day and paid well too used to do a lot of work for Fedex (ANC) through them.
Incidentally, a brothel a few doors down has closed down over the last week too

Leicester has it’s own LGV test station within the outer city limits so that may have a bearing.
The same can be found near to the Garretts Green area of Brum.

Over the past few months I have seen 2 instructors to 1 trainee in the cabs at times - I live very close to a popular LGV training road - loads of roundabouts, mini roundabouts and very tight chicanes where, to exit them, the oncoming side of the road is needed.

Let’s hope so. Every Tom, ■■■■and Harry it seems has opened an agency in the last 20 years flooding the market and under-cutting each other.It can only be a good thing.

I haven’t been looking but I haven’t seen a lot of them Driver Provider trailers or wagons around. They were an agency were’nt they ?

I applied to the dreaded driver-hire (needs must) about a fortnight ago, they told me they weren’t taking anyone on because of how quiet things are. Fair enough.
Signing with another agency a week or so later I got talking to the guy about how things are, according to him - driver-hire (the lincoln branch, I guess) has / is going down the pan!

I was / am signed to the Grimsby branch of Driver Liar, and to be honest it wouldnt suprise me in this area if they start packing up.

God job I didnt mention any names theyve phoned me today, (the agency not the brothel), they are still trading but arent very busy, had got a shift for me tongiht if available (Im not). Apparently the lease was up and are trading from home till things pick up.

my main agency mothballed its Nuneaton branch before Christmas so i now ring Leicester and another one has mothballed its office in the town with the staff now working out of Coventry

PITA having to wait behind learners shuffling their way along that road. I know they have to learn somewhere, but somedays it seems like you are following a Coates’ convoy.
