Wheel Nut:
I am afraid drivers who pay for their own damage, live on the same planet as those who work for nought to gain experience amid those who pay for their own fuel and digi rolls
This ^^^^
And the same planet that thinks that having a new ToplineGlobetrotterXFBellsandWhistles make it ok to work for a bag of beans…
If you pay up now, you set a precedent. What will you do if you’re unlucky enough to cause two grands worth of damage at some stage? Your boss will say ‘well, you paid up last time it was your fault’ and he’ll be right - you did!
I’d apologise certainly, but explain that the insurance company pays for damage, not the driver.
Balls…
its the big company attitude again of “its your truck so you fix it” even tho I was driving like a ■■■■ etc :evil:
I can’t believe so many “professionals” are saying that the OP should pay anything towards the cost of the incident. If a toilet cleaner spilt some toilet cleaning chemicals, would he/she be expected to pay for it out of his/her wages?
To the OP, don’t pay it.
To the rest of the poor wooden-headed saps on this thread, you honestly deserve everything you get.

We as westerners don’t use the horn in the correct way unlike Asia and less ‘developed’ countries (I use the word developed loosely as most seem to have more common sense than us).
Yeah, in the Philippines, I think the horn runs continuously and they press it now and again to stop it!
FarnboroughBoy11:
Car drivers fault.
Has anyone on here that drives a truck, been taken out by a truck in their car similar to this… No… Car drivers fault.
Poor spacial awareness
Poor forward planning
Poor lane discipline
It’s a fact that if the car driver could actually drive then he wouldn’t have been in this accident.
Car drivers fault.

So mr monk you put another truck on the road and
the driver of your truck has a minor accident and says it was my mistake boss heres £100 to cover the cost…you say nah its fine ya wooden headed sap thats what I pay insurance for…
I know the boss has asked for the dosh rather than it be offered but its the same principle, either your willing to pay it or your not…

Don’t know where you’ve been in the PI, but in my experience in numerous cities and provinces, the horn isn’t used excessively. Try Cairo, Egypt.
Cairo 1st.
Then the relative calm of Manila:
Watch for the bus at 4.02. Note the relative calm at 5.15.
Also remember this guy likes filming jeepneys… they do tend to sound the horn more than other types of traffic to attract pedestrian’s attention in the hope they want a ride.
Mr APL doesn’t seem to be getting very far does he?
You can’t see in this film, but the truck trailers often have tyres thru’ to the canvas and have no working lights.
Apologies to the OP for the thread hijack. It could have been a lot worse drive … could have been a squashed cyclist.
