Finishing times.....?

Probably a daft question and been asked a million times, and i know everyday is going to be different and unpredictable.

BUT, for those of you doing days, what is your ‘average’ finishing time? Maybe some lucky people (barring any hiccups) have a regular finish time most days?

I already work in a job (not driving) with unsociable hours, so it doesn’t bother me too much, although id like a couple of nights a week at least where i’m home by 6… am i asking too much from this industry■■?

Start at 5am every day and finish anywhere between 3 & 6pm. Never plan anything for in the week and if it can’t be avoided then I book off half a day.

start at 7am can finish anytime between 5.30 to 7.30pm

Start between 4 and 6am, usually finish between 1 and 4pm.

Start at 8am every morning and normally on my way home by 5pm. Except for tonight though. Bloomin 6.45pm before I got finished.[emoji35] [emoji35]

Start at 0600. Overtime after 1400, usually finish between 1500-1800.

Works for me.

start at 3-4am finish 6-7pm :frowning:

06:30 start. 99.9% of time I’m clocking out at 16:00

Cant argue with that!

Unless there’s a hint of sarcasm i’m not picking up on, then maybe it’s not unrealistic to have reasonable working hours… :open_mouth:

Get up two hours before I go to bed…

Some of the non driving jobs I’ve had where we’ve been trying to get orders out to meet deadlines, have often resulted in 80 plus hours per week. One morning we started at 7am and worked all through the night to 10am next morning. Twenty seven hours straight through to get the job out on time. :frowning:

When I was a service engineer, working 6am to 8pm and all day Saturday and Sunday was quite normal. Earned a lot of money doing that, but the work/life balance is just pants, as you are forever at work and nothing gets done outside of work.

I start between 4am to 6am and done on average 11-12 hour later.
This industry only buggers your life up if you let it,good jobs are out there.

It’s not unrealistic at all, but those day jobs that have the hours & money combo spot on are obviously gonna take time to get into, unless your lucky.

You’ve had less than 10 replies. Trust me, far more drivers on here will be knocking out 12-15 hour days/working ■■■■■ shifts/weekends/tramping to earn good money than those that don’t.

Yep - when the kids were at school, I always booked the day off for evening events, parent’s meetings etc. So many things can delay you and it’s just not worth the earache.

I used to start early depending what run we had, then as it was tramping get all the hours you can in legally. You always earn more sitting in the drivers seat than in the passenger seat.

I usually start between 4:30-6am and am finished 12-3pm, 4-5pm would be a once a month really late finish

To the OP,
if you want a life avoid the for profit operators.

Day lads at our place generally finish around tea time.as for tramping…i finished at 1730 today.
Hav’nt clocked off yet though,as i’m route planning.

just started another job, 15 min down the road from home, start 0800 home by 3.30/4.30 latest. # Happydays
