Fines

Hi

I am new to all the fines that drivers accumulate during their european trips, but am wondering if anyone has ever recovered the money from the foreign authorities. We had to pay out a grand last year in Belgium and extra on top to make sure it was contested in court - should i just forget about the money■■?

I have got my union to pay my fines in the past, but as far as I am aware most drivers don’t contest fines as a court appearance works out far more costly,(time & money) but if you get your money back let us know, good luck
