No probs Convoy.

Will try and get details for you tonight and mail them to you sometime Wednesday.

ok thanks killsville

Well Done Convoy… Nice one buddy…

Hi Convoy,

great news!!! So glad you passed. Really pleased for you. I am going for assessment for CE on Saturday and will then book lessons (It took this long for the licence to come!)

Once again well done.

How long did it take for you to get your licence back then
JayHoe  . You not doing a course again then JayHoe
after assessment and going to do individual lessons
around driving  . I got told by my examiner I should
have my licence back in about a weeks time  .
I ordered tom tom go today and hour guard also.
How you getting on JayHoe with driving and tacho
ect  .

Convoy, Price Express Transport ( PET) are on just off Atterclife near Don Valley Stadium so are easy to get to.
Riverside Close
Don road
Which is off Newhall road.
I think they have about 26 Class 2 trucks and 4 class 1.
like I said things are quiet at the moment but they still use agency people and they have a highish turnover of staff .

Convoy,

I passed Class II on the 8th December… and got my licence yesterday!!! OK, so there was Christmas to slow things down. Yes, I am having a Class I assesment on Saturday, they will then estimate the training I need, and I will then book it there and then as a solid block again.

I havent got one of those hour guard things yet, I use a stop watch to keep track of hours driving and put everything in a spreadsheet at home so I can treack any 15 hour spreads etc. I guess when I get a bit busier, I will get one.

PS, don’t forget to get other essentials…

A hi-vis jacket (you might be able to blag one from your agency)
Steel toe-cap boots - some places will not allow you in without them. I would recommend these Dewalt boots from screwfix at £40- http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?id=32548&ts=89016
An unbreakable Thermos flask
A Thermos cup (with a lid)
An empty CD case with a rubber band round it - you can can put your used Tachos in it as you need to carry a week and a days worth with you
Your TomTom
A camera - I didnt have mine when that bird in the passenger seat of a car flashed her baps at me twice (grrrrr!) :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

I know where you mean knight and I can phone them
and leave my contact details for when work picks up.
I phoned hour guard up today and gave my security
code number for my switch card as it don’t do that
bit online and the lady said the bracket is not available
anymore as suppliers don’t make it but everything else
is being posted. As for tom tom from comet I am waiting
for them to contact me as I got 2 emails 1 saying out of
stock and then 2nd one 5 minutes later
saying administration are dealing with it and they
will contact me within 24 hours so I will have to wait
and see but everywhere are selling them very quick
and waiting for them to come in. Thanks for the list
JayHoe and I know there was a list of things on here
for new drivers to get. Have you done any nights out
JayHoe

It is also worth getting a hard hat. You may end up delivering to places which wont let you in without it (building sites & Refinerys etc).

I have just had a look through the crate I keept in the back of the car as an agency driver:- Hard hat, Steel toe capped Boots, Kettle, Camping stove and pans, lots of maps, FIRST AID KIT, TORCH, More maps, Small tool kit, Various Bulbs, Various Fuses. This is all in just a small crate, easy to sling up in a cab if you are going to be out for a night or 2. I would say to take a first aid kit and torch with you everyday, regardless of job.

Well done Convoy.

Sorry i didn’t get back sooner convoy - no, I haven’t done any nights out - just days. But having said that, I haven’t had anything since Christmas!!
