I used to love those farm fertiliser deliveries, if you timed it right you got the ploughmans lunch ![]()

I often wonder how many of these old trailers would just hook up and go if you put a unit under them ![]()

Depends how powerful the unit, theyd probably drag along for a while but I doubt much more than 10% of them would last more than a few miles.
Wouldn’t it be better to break them up and sell them as scrap if the cost of scrap is high enough to be worth stealing plaques of war memorials?
Not sure what the price of steel is now but a couple of years back it was crazy high so does make you wonder why many didnt capitalise on it

Spotted just outside Hawick
These have been parked in the “boneyard” up at the NEC Birmingham for years!

Is that one taken from the back of JT Atkinsons yard in Penrith?
Think so the other side would be j40 Truck stop, and as you can see Ullswater road garage.
Thought that was Penrith, the URG trailer was the giveaway. ![]()
Dug these photos from an old photo album today- taken at Chaumont peage in 1991,ok i know it wasn’t the final resting place for this trailer but i’ve nowhere else to post em!
Arriving at the peage to clouds of smoke- soon stopped laughing when i noticed it was one of our trailers!!!

Been told they only allow people to wonder about if your buying.
i have wandered about at rush green, as they say the old stuff has gone, but it was truley a magical place, the first visit there i came across a bedford o model flat with what i thought was a steam engine on it but it was a wood burning gas producer i think as i looked at the wartime fuels and was sure that is what it was, but by the time i had returned she was gone. it was sad as all the old maudsleys and aec type stuff was well preserved but the later things they have kept like the transcons and volvos are rusted out.
