When I was agency I went to a small general haulage Co. that usually had nice wagons. This time they wanted me to drive their old shed of a shunter. I took one look inside, shut the door (that took three slams), and went back to the office. The boss went bananas. [zb] agency drivers expect Rolls Royces etc etc.
He said most of this to my back as I headed for my car and the agency found me another job right off. The amazing thing was that the next day I was back there driving a brand new Scania
One company I worked for used to offer a monthly bonus for looking after your vehicle inside and out, it was a good idea, after all they are often the companies front window ( clean and well presented vehicles) plus as the boss used to say his vehicles are a company asset and as such he wants the best return on them when its time for an upgrade they are bl**dy dear enough without drivers neglect causing more loss of money,

However,in a change for me,I’m doing a night out tomorrow night,in a 2 month old Volvo FE 6 wheeler rigid.I checked it today before I came home,and it’s naturally gleaming inside,and that’s the way it’ll return.

Couldn’t fault it.Even the walls still had that new smell, when I was in bed.
