Has anybody any info on what programe I need to down load so I can convert videos from realplayer to a format that works with windows media player? I have had a look on google but there are loads of them and I dont know whats what with these fangled things.

any reason why you need to play them on windows media player
videolan.org/vlc/ this will play almost all video files without the need to convert them
If the video files have a .rmvb extension try installing the Shark007 Codecs, you can then play most video and audio formats in Windows Media Player without converting.
I believe the codecs will play all Real Player file formats in WMP but I only have an rmvb file to test it on so …
Be sure to install the correct codec pack for your operating system, I installed the Shark007 codec pack a few weeks ago and Windows Media Player has played everything I’ve thrown at it ever since

The reason I wanted to change them is because my work laptop will not play realplayer files and I cant download it either. So if I convert them on my laptop I can put them on a stick and play them on the work laptop when I want, and not need to take 2 laptops away with me. I dont realy understand how it works, it blocks realplayer and ebay.
