Has anyone had this done to an FH500? Not looking for a huge power gain but the fuel economy is looking attractive as well as a hike in torque as im nearly always running at full weight and even with this power still changing down on long gradients. Been offered a plug in tuning chip and a flash remap but would prefer the remap rather than a generic tuning box. Going to bite the bullet and go for an FH16 in around 12 months time, an earlier 660 but for now staying with what ive got…
I don’t think you can have more power AND better fuel consumption.
I know from when I worked in the engine component business that Volvo, Scania, MAN and ■■■■■■■ spend an awful lot of time and money testing and developing engines/injection systems/turbos etc, if there was a way of getting more power for less fuel I’m sure they would have used it by now.
(It may be possible to re-map to alter the torque curve to change driveability, but so would different gear/axle ratios, wouldn’t they?)
