Actually looking at it again you’ve had 11 hours rest on the boat so when you depart the boat you’ll start a new shift and can continue driving, the vehicle movement when you leave the boat will be the start of a new period of 24 hours.
1st thing I noticed sure on boat from 2030 til 0915 gives him 12hrs 45mins rest so didn’t even need to use ferry mode!!!
Boys going on the Stena Birkenhead boat from Belfast docks try to get down early to load,
that way if 1st dozen or so loaded you get the full 9hr rest parked on boat and no need for ferry mode.[emoji6]
ok i know, but if I’ve used movement to get on i must use to get off, as said it doesn’t say i can’t, so even if I’ve had 11hrs plus , nowhere does it say i can’t use it to get off irrespective of how many hrs I’ve rested, and i want to start my duty later not straight away when i get off.

In that case we’re back to my original question, you started the daily rest period at 16:00 but what time did your shift start to get to the port at 16:00 ?
The reason I ask is because if the part of your daily rest period that was within the 24 hour period from the start of the shift ended on the ferry, a new 24 hour period (a new shift) started when you moved off the ferry.
This is of course assuming you’re on a single manned journey not multi-manned.
For instance, lets say you started work at 08:00 and arrived at the port and parked up at 16:00, the 24 hour period from the start of the shift ended at 08:00 while you was still on the ferry, in that case you would start a new shift when you moved the vehicle off the ferry, in that situation interrupting the daily rest to drive off the ferry would not be an option I’m afraid.
You can only interrupt the part of the daily rest period that falls within the 24 hour period from the start of the shift.

You can use “ferry mode” option to get on the boat (IE not sure if parked on boat for 9hrs+ daily rest) but if you’ve had a full 9hrs rest whilst truck parked down in the freight deck there’s no need to use ferry mode again to move off the boat,
your 24hr clock will simply start when you move off the boat.
The only exception to this would be if you’ve already used up your 3 reduced weekly rests then you’d have to use the 2nd ferry mode “mark” to get off boat and park til 11hrs rest plus the shunt.
