Does anyone have the inside track on Fernwood Fuel’s road transport division based in Watnall, Notts. (near DSA/MOT centre)■■ Obviously it’s bulk tipper work but is it mainly regional work or do they get further afield?? Seem to remember some smart ERFs on the fleet a while back and heard they load coal out of Hull docks. Can anyone elaborate further with regard to pay/conditions etc?

I rang last time they advertised and they wanted a driver who is experienced with tippers. Not sure on pay for artics but got a mate who works on the roads with them and he is on about 30k a year for class 2 and tarmacking work. Not sure if the get paid more or less but he has funny shifts all round the clock which probably boosts his wages as high as they go. He says they are a good outfit in general, paid for his class 2 and they don’t advertise often so it must be a decent place to work.
Its go go go, like every tipper job, my mate has lasted on there, and he can be a bit “mardy”
I saw a few in the Hull area last week, all going like the wind
always in a rush barely ever in lane 1 on m1 lol, nice tackle tho all fairly newish
