FPMSL     …Nice one James.

don’t know about you lot in tenerife but in andalucia fernando alonso is the marmite of sportstars
you either love him or hate him, most people around here hate him as much as they hate barcelona :open_mouth:

Im not sure you know of the bitterness between Tenerife and Gran Canaria but need i say more his wife is a Canariona(Gran Canaria) but they seem to like him more here than Lewis

commonrail:
coz if i`m doing 89 and the truck in front is doing 88.5 i have nothing left so it takes ages to get past…thus annoying other drivers like the romanian i mentioned earlier

and getting us all tarred with the same brush :unamused:

Wouldn’t this be the time to turn your cruise down a couple of clicks instead of trying to pass him when you haven’t really got the legs to do it :unamused:
The way I see it you are now in the perfect position to turn your cruise down to 87 and you can watch the other truck get out of your way

so then you`re running with your cc set on 87, which is what i suggested in the first place. touche

you suggested the exact opposite to what I suggested, I would run at the max until something very slightly slower got in my way, then I would ease up to their speed, you suggested running slow to begin with then overtaking when you caught up with something even slower. If you did run like you suggest in your first post would you ease off more if something 0.0001 mph faster than you caught up with you and tried an overtake or would you up the CC so you didn’t hold them up?
I can’t see the sense in running slower for no reason

The first post was so cryptic I doubt many people understood the point to this thread…

the guy running 0000.1 kmh would then up his cc and pass quickly

Overtakings easy anyway, you just get into the slip stream and then sling shot past, they do it at Daytona, so why not do it on the M1

Think you need to explain this to some of the ■■■■■■ truck drivers that have got a bit confused, they got the first bit about driving a few mph slower correct but they got the overtaking bit wrong, they usually speed up when some overtakes them and not when they overtake someone else.

This is why I’d rather have everyone running on the limiter, at least you know whether their faster than you or not, rather than waiting til you start to overtake and then speeding up and holding you out in lane 2, like the (zb) downton driver who did this to me on the M3 this afternoon, speed matching me as I got level with his cab and only backing off again after I blasted the horn and gave him a ‘WTF are you playing at?!?!?’ look

I prefer to run at 80km/h as anything faster spills my tea.
