Fergusons transport / Barcelona

Fergies first high cab , my pride and joy ! Pictured in South of France en route to Barcelona. Mid 90s I guess , happy days !

I remember when this job started, we were waiting for three new FL7’s to come to Sunderland depot, Kenny got the first for the Barcelona run which had just began, a 38 tonne unit on low profiles and the other two were 36 tonner’s painted in the usual livery, one of which I got, I have to say it was one of the worst motors I’ve had, wouldn’t pull your hat off, they were the first air suspended Volvo’s which was about the only things going for them. The trailers were also new too at the time. The FL cab wasn’t really suitable for the work abroad due to the lack of space, I’m glad I never volunteered for it in the end. Franky.

Same truck, same trip probably looking for vineyard for backload !

I used to pull these trailers a lot Just in the UK, one of the jobs was reels of paper from Blyth to Newcastle under Lyme, They were very high reels so the stepframe was ideal for the job, Regards Larry.
