There is a high probability of some disruption to Rail and Yard Operations as a
result of these adverse weather conditions.
The current weather forecast is for winds to exceed 45mph at yard crane height
during this period.
We will monitor the situation and send a further message if operations are
affected; if an updated forecast is received; or if Operation Stack is called.
Felixstowe had a big bit on the local BBC news about the deep water port and being capable of handling the new super container ships, then today London Gateway annouced that they where on track to open 2013, so if Felixstowe closes at a slight breeze, will the ship be heading towards Tilbury? could be ineresting.
No, because the deep water channel into Tilbury or the Medway is not deep enough, (at present)
And there is quite a bit involved with diverting a ship to another port.
Please be advised we have been notified that Captain Spanky will be around the area waffling on as he does about all things shiny thus creating high winds at or above our safe working limits covering the period
