Forums work a bit like this.
The owner makes an investment… purchases a domain name and some web space. I haven’t checked to see what type of server or level of service TN is hosted on - because I don’t give a flying foxtrot.
But regardless… the owner has to invest at least some time and a small amount of money.
Let’s assume the site is hosted on a dedicated server shall we… just because that cost’s a bit more…
The owner then generates an audience… big or small.
This site has a very small audience, but quite large within the sector.
Often people who enjoy the forum on a regular basis, feel compelled to help out in some way or another, so they offer themselves up to do things like moderating.
It’s no biggie and even if the owners are making money… what is the problem with that?
If you are the jealous type that gets all green behind the gills because people have a bit more than you… chew on this for a bit.

I give my time as a moderator to give a little back to the site, I’ve been a member for 10yrs or so and during that time I’ve learned quite a few things and been entertained during that time and as being a moderator is voluntary, I have no set timetable or procedures to follow, I just look at the stuff that interests me and moderate if anything needs attention. I don’t trawl through the forums looking for trouble, if anybody can make a few quid off the back of that, good luck to them.

Its was the weekend and I had other things to do than worry about this post, I also told you I wasn’t going to argue semantics.
I am not going to apologise that TruckNet is a business - it helps pay peoples wages and mortgages, < it has just by existing given people free HGV courses and large discounts , it has raised £1000’s for charities that support drivers and given members the holidays of a lifetime trucking across the USA and a week at the biggest US truckshow- and done so without asking you to pay to use it.
The point has been made to you time and time again, it is obvious that you have decided to labour a failed argument than use this website for what is intended, so rather than feed you any more, any more crap from you can come via e-mail and I will respond via that medium if I can be bothered, anything else will just get deleted. because I cant be bothered wasting any more time on you

To be honest, I cannot for the life of me work out what the grievance is about. Isn’t it obvious that the site is a commercial site and needs to make money. Quite frankly which ever way or however much the site makes is of no one else concern in my opinion.
