It’s normally pretty rammed. I only use Rugby services to fuel up as they accept Keyfuels (which has pretty much killed off the Stobart truckstop on the A5 for fuel sales) as it’s only five minutes from our yard but I only ever use it for that early on Monday mornings as the trucks are normally queueing out onto the service road.
Incidentally you do get a food voucher for filling up, 25p per 50 litres which you can spend at the Greggs if that’s your thing.

Thats easy, used to do a lot into there when I was on the pallet network stuff, normally another row or 2 of empties up there. They struggle Because everybody tries to get on all bays on the good side. 1st 2 bays next to the building, nose over the far side and good side in, all the rest screw round clockwise, stick nose up towards the exit and in on the blind side, simples

Yep, like normal goes off topic
I have been on full time agency for the last 11 years mainly for the same company. Reasons were pay was alot better, especially when it was Ltd.
Now the pay is the same as the core drivers and with the economy like it is, I have asked to go on the books and they hopefully start me in the new year.
I work for one of the high street chains and it been very poor sales. All of us agencies was on grantee 5 days shifts so it’s been ok but after January it going back to normal shifts and it doesn’t look good.

Way I see it a topic on a forum is like an open conversation in a pub, you get sensible contributions,.comments from a couple of idiots and complete b/s from the odd fruitcake.
Either way that conversation invariably goes off on different tangents, leading to different subjects…as on here.
I think it’s dozy just trying to prove a point by refuting the thread title, and has bizarrely turned to actually boasting about all the hours he is ramming in,.and how he is giving himself a thrashing…leopards and spots eh?
Still,.at least he has taken to eating proper meals whilst he’s away, albeit a tad maybe too late.
I get why he is refuting the thread, but speaking as one of the ones he keeps referring to…‘‘sat on my fat lazy ■■■ on the sofa’’,.as he so eloquently puts it …
I can not for the life of me figure why he genuinely believes anybody is jealous or actually gives a ■■■■.
Crack on doze fil yer boots man,.we ain’t that fussed, but good luck with it all anyhoo.

As for boasting about the hours I’ve done , I suggest you read the thread ( you’ve got the time as you’ve done nothing all week other than sit on your ■■■ drinking beer no doubt
They said there was No work for agency , I said there was work & plenty , then got told I talked ■■■■■■■■ , now if I’d of done 3 days of 8 hrs would I of proved my point of work & plenty , no I wouldn’t , so I did 80 hrs to prove my point ,
Now apparently I’ve bullied the poor little souls , awwww nasty me , he’s stuffed our words down our throats and we don’t like it , pathetic , typical of the soft ■■■■■■■ you get these days , like to dish it out , but don’t like it back .

Cheers for that doze.
Fair comment though I have got form for sitting on my arse as you say.
But my ethic is fine btw, but thanks for the kind advice anyway.
I’ll just clarify and explain my pov for you mate, seeing as you always show concern
Thing is mate,.I only work to live, not live to work.
I saw the light on this job and removed the rosy specs ■■■■ years ago.
If I could afford to take early retirement, and at same time maintain a good life with plenty social time, you would not see me for dust mate.
You seem to have a problem with me taking furlough ,.you go over it at every opportunity…let it go man ffs, it was nearly 3 years ago., AND if it came up again I’d have no qualms nor conscience about putting my name forward again.
As for ‘‘getting upset’’ and it ‘’ bothering me’’ ? …
How little you know me.
I have paid loads into the system,.and got very little out if it…so save your wrath for the scrounging underclass and the freeloaders masquerading as refugees in 4 and 5 star hotels me old mate.
Anyhoo, if you want to compare us seeing as we are of similar age and experience…
I have done it all mate ( not boasting like you btw, it’s NOTHING to boast about, I.'m just informing and making my point to you ) all types of haulage you can think of,.apart from livestock (unless you count taking thoutoghbred horses to airports to fly to Canada)
Had my own trucks.
Done all UK and most of W. Europe.
Worked for UK and Western Eurooean firms, and…
I had/have the job sussed mate, in (too many) years of tramping.
I don’t give myself a thrashing by running myself ragged like my arse is on fire.
I sleep properly usually taking 11 hours (or more) off.
I don’t eat crap, but fresh cooked food warmed up, or decent food outside of the truck.
I park within walking distance of facilities, and never in ■■■■ hole lay bys with mirrors pulled in at last second of 9 hours.
I do NOT succumb to pressure from ■■■■ s in offices, nor let them make a prick out of me,.and end up or risking getting a sh.storm from DVSA.
I do not get stressed out too much,…and very little phases me about the job, even when having my own business, and going bust.
What about you doze with that list?
And is your health still bad after effects of the job?
Mine is fine btw, I neither feel nor look my age(I am often told) because,…well just read the above.
So when I get the opportunity mate,.and the choice between working or ‘‘sitting on my arse’’ I’l take the latter, it has done me no harm so far.
Keep on with your Bank Hol trucking…and Happy New Year.
Posted whilst sat on my arse in Cafe Nero btw over a skinny latte on my day off while wife is shopping .
Photographed in a dozy stylee.
