Fatal RTC in Bordeaux

Received a summons and arrest warrant in 1992,apparently one those small cars, that people with no car licences can drive, came off a slip road,on my blindside, and hit the side of the trailer, recall irate French drivers chasing me up the road, hooting and flashing at me,but that is normal.Got pulled loads of time by all authorities in France, but the warrant never showed up to stop any journeys after the accident with the electric car.Did charges get dropped, due no witness accounts?Kerbut may have French law answers perhaps?I wasnt aware i got hit,no trailer damage.

Toby, “IF” you were involved in a fatal RTC there is not a hope in hell that the police and other authorities would let matters drop, especially if ,as you claim, you were chased up the road by other motorists who witnessed the alledged RTC!!!

Dont think they still use the guillotine any more though!!

Think you are right there.Make a meal out of me,if got nicked.

Toby
I dont know much about French law ,I try and avoid it most of the time, but as far as I know the cars sans permis are not allowed on dual carriageway,as far as I can remember if you were going around Bordeaux it was all dual road (except if you ran the old road through the center )If you went over the bridge or the newer road turning left by Ricard (or is it Pernot ) it was both dual. The electric cars you told of are powered by a single cylinder Honda diesel engine.

KERBUT,letter said she was old lady, and her san permis car,was on the twin track before St Andre de Cubzac exit, she was illegally on that road,i take it,apparently car shattered to smitherings as i was not going slow at the time they said i was located. Those cars are dangerous,on blind corner on rural roads at night, can easily hit the back of them.

reading this, you say you got the summons in 1992? you took a long time to post it on here, as you weren’t aware of having the accident, how is it you remember all the cars hooting and flashing if as you say this is normal for french drivers? Was the summons sent to you personally, because if it was, your boss must have passed on your details, or were you an owner driver at the time.
If this incident did happen and you were summonsed, I would be very surprised if the case was dropped without you being informed, and as there was a death involved I am surprised that extradition procedures weren’t carried out at the time of the accident

and the point is■■?

I don’t know about these cars but it is quite common for railway locomotives to have a diesel engine which is used to generate electricity to drive wheel-mounted electric motors which move the loco.
