Did the FE4 (593 ERF) once belong to Bassetts of Titensor? If it did, I think it was an ex Fodens Works vehicle. Correct me if I’m wrong . . . . .
This had a steel body which was swapped for an ally one, it has been fitted with a 13 speed fuller ‘double overdrive’ gearbox for motorway economy and has a ■■■■■■■ ISM405
Very smart, ex Smiths of Bletchingdon
Indeed it is, it’s had a few changes and just started its second life
Nigel where is the best place to get an intercooler for my 325 stc as it has the usual split down the sides and the radiator also would benifit from a re core as well! dave keyworth is going to replace a few gaskets when he whips the lid off in a few weeks time
i never placed the wagon and the owner till i saw you talking to dave the other sunday at andy barkers, there are a few pics of my purchase a couple of pages back on this thread

Hello mate, which rad and intercooler does yours have? Is it the big foden rad with the bolted on header tank? I have an early 4000 intercooler which is ok for a L10 325…mine late model seems to have a DAF rad and intercooler
W844 was always a nice lorry to drive, until the clutch brake got worn it was probably the easiest crash box Smiths’ had. The ■■■■■■■ Celect 340 it had was a bit on the thirsty side unless you didn’t stray above 50mph as it was originally an 8speed. It’s sister wagon survives in the Great Malvern are, operated by J.Prosser.
Armstrong, when in the market for another ex Smiths motor, lookout for a 54 reg 6w Alpha…
mine has the big bolt on header tank foden type, the intercooler is split all the way down the weld on the o/s,
the finn’s in the rad are mostly falling out though the veins are ok and it’s not leaking but if dave is going to the effort to sort the oil leaks it would make sense to replace the rad and intercooler at the same time, once dried up and set up i’m hoping to unleash it’s full potential!

Hi moose i had my E14 rad done at j29a markham vale but i thought he was a bit expensive, i heard that some folk round here go to Grantham so it must be cheaper to go that far out.it was nearly as cheap for new M11 /EC11 rad from HGVS as to have my own ERF E14 one done up
the last one i had done was at derby (serk marsden) for my volvo f6 but that must be 13 years ago! as for price i dont remember
i was told to try macclesfield radiators as they have dne a far few of this type, having been buisy over the last few days i have not made any enquires yet
tested my trailer this morning so i will have a bit more time over the next few days, booked a test date for the end of june for the foden so i will have to have a poke round that soon!
Macclesfield Radiators- Don’t know anything about them but they’ve been in business for quite some time and they DO fix commercial rads. Worth a call on 01625 615617
thanks for the number i will give them a ring in the morning
