Fancy a holiday

A question for the international guys and gals, I’m wanting a holiday things are getting on top of me and fancy a week away. I’ll be on my own don’t really fancy a busy city looking for something more relaxed and quiet. A decent town with things to do or go and see and must have a good night life pubs bars live bands etc not interested in clubbing, some countryside and or mountains not too far away to wander around during the day would be a bonus too. Long shot I know but just trying to pick your brains and any suggestions will be appreciated.
Looking at end of August or beginning of September

Thanks

Don’t mean to sound stupid here but is it ok for English to take holidays in Northern Ireland? I don’t know much about the troubles and not trying to start an argument

Donegal isn’t in northern Ireland it’s in the republic

Ah right I see, only ever ferried into Dublin and headed south, never been north of Dublin sorry for the assumption

You would be surprised how many times I heard that before but Donegal is a very nice place

Well thanks for the help
Will be having a look into it tomorrow, just need somewhere to get away turn the phone off and relax where no one knows me

Enjoy your holiday were ever you go just thinking northwest truckfest is on in Donegal at the end of August but maybe you don’t want to think of work

Hartlepool.

Get yourself a copy of “around Ireland with a fridge” by Tony Hawks , then fill your boots

‘Is it ok for the English to take holidays in Northern Ireland,’

Thousands do each year and and seem to get home in 1 piece. Are you really that stupid, why don’t you you come find out for yourself.

Or do you only feel safe in England surrounded by foreigners.

Clown

What about Scotland. Some lovely places up there. :sunglasses:

Hmm yeah I could be seen as a clown, and yeah maybe thousands of family’s do holiday in Ireland each year, man wife and two kids nothing unusual I guess, but I’m a single English guy may raise a suspicion to some people? But again I’m sorry my foolishness I clearly am not as smart as yourself!
Must try harder!!

Fantastic beach at Calahonda about 4 miles East of Motril near Malaga in Andulucia Spain.
Options are a pension/ hotel in Calahonda.
Good campsite by the beach.Big swimming pools and restaurant on site.
Fly to Malaga, bus from the airport to Malaga then another bus to Motril.
They run all day till late at night.
Or stay in Granada to see Sierra Nevada mountain range and the area around Olviga and it’s stunning mountains and white washed villages.
The Alahambra palace is a must see.
Allow a full day to see it all.
There is a bus from Calahonda to Granada.
Or hire a car from Malaga airport.
Visit Marbella and Peurto de Banus.

This is a billionares marina to check out the rich and famous.

Mini cruise to Bilbao or Santander in Spain on Brittany Ferries.Cinemas on board and a swimming pool.
Nightclub to grab a Granny.
As a foot passenger or take a bike.
Santander has a stunning beach.
Another option is Lisbon and Porto. Both good nightlife and plenty to see and do.Cruise the rivers in both places.

Yeah, i think wired4smoke needs to get away himself as well, no need for those remarks when someone is asking a valid question, but then again, i suppose its good to be a know it all

I can see why a English person may think that but its not dangerous unless you go to a bad spot

Waterford. You have the seaside resort of Tramore, the Commeragh mountains. Mount Congreve world renown gardens and an airport. All within 30mins from town. Or how about Salou in Spain. Cheap and hire a big quad for the day and head into the mountains. Amazing.
