Fake HGV licences for sale on web

news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/engl … 408422.stm

this subject has been covered on here recently but i cannot find the link

DVLA takes the integrity of the driving licence system very seriously and are concerned that drivers might be able to obtain a counterfeit driving licence without having to demonstrate competence to drive," a spokeswoman said.

Yeh right, so how come these have been around for years, peeps have told DVLA about them and nothing is said till a camera/microphone is stuck in their face.

Rog

just found the previous thread on the fake fiasco under the title -

“Disgusting- do you want C+E without training”

Hope this helps

Vehicle immobilisers that link to DVLA database would be a solution.

When you want to start the vehicle, enter your driver number and it checks you out.

Simple and quite easy to impliment with todays technology.

Thats assuming DVLA havent stuffed up your entitlements. :open_mouth:

BBC NEWS | UK | England | Kent | Fake HGV licences for sale on web

This is old news. I can tell from the prices mentioned exactly which site they got it from them and the same site has been mentioned in the media several times since. The authorities can do nothing because of 2 key reasons :

  1. The site is not illegal and neither is the documentation they sell because of a clear legal disclaimer before you commit to buy stating the product is for novelty purposes only, must not to be used to for illegal purposes and the company will accept no liability should you choose to do so.

And, more importantly

  1. The site is hosted in Panama which has very lax law enforcement for things like this and because of its location the UK authorities can’t touch them.

Should someone ask the BBC why they are advertising the site that sells fake licenses, using the information from the page linked to in this thread, I was easily able to find the site for fake licenses, it took less than 2 minutes :unamused:

So, did you get yourself a new licence with no HGV on it? You know that sort of thing improves your job prospects

dam i forked out 1200 quid to get mine i think the digi tacho could sort some of this out and driver cpc but how mean drivers are driving on these

yeah I agree - why is the BBC making it so easy to hook up with these crooks - I just typed in “novelty uk photocard licence” into GOOGLE

and hey presto dub dub dub novmaster.com appears

to be asking for a tenner for a nice sample and either 250 or 350 for the a novelty licence -

it’s disguting that the television licence payers money is being used to sponsor Colin Campbell’s (no relation) journalistic career.

I have held an HGV licence for 37 years, not boasting I assure you,and giving the matter serious thought while casting my mind back I can reveal…in all that time I have been asked for my licence on 3 occasions…once in the UK and twice abroad.that does exclude several times sending it off to claim my points for prizes.
So whether a licence is fake or otherwise, just like the CPC,no one is likely to ever ask for it.

Come to think of it I have never been asked to produce my licence.
I was once stopped by a policeman while driving our truck back from the tests centre alone.
He asked me where my instructor was.
I asked him why he thought I needed one. :unamused:
After me getting sarcy about why he presumed be to be a learner he apologised and went away - no mention of producing my licence at any time.
