fair wage

so what would you say was a fair wage for being away all week in the uk.

Here we go again :unamused:

£36.00 an hour, double after 10 hours
£300 night out with parking paid and chalk supplied.

£600 is about the average take home, to include night out money, meal allowance etc.

£18.00ph to £25.00ph would be a good starting point

I’d do it for £10 an hour!

30k

For me to change from days to tramping I’d want 37 k,if I was doing hours shifts I do now to make it worth my while .

Why bother with a thread like this are you just trying to stir ■■■■ up? Lorry driving is a crap paying job plain and simple, if you want to earn a decent wage train for something else instead of posting pointless threads on a forum, but of course its far easier for people to moan about things and hope the problems fixes itself than actually getting off their arses to sort the problem…

Wouldn’t mine looking into shipping etc.

But haven’t a clue where to start…

I take home £600 a month plus night out money and meal allowance.

More then alot on here but less then some HTH.

Whats a fair wage?

A wage that reflects the difficulty and skill requirements of the job, hours involved and what sort of conditions the worker has to put up with…where there’s muck there’s brass type of thing.

So its always difficult to put a figure on a lorry drivers wage as the skills offered and needed vary, the effort and time involved varies, the drivers attitude competence care and performance vary.

If i had to put an average figure on the job, i would expect £30k min for 48 hours 5 days plus night out allowances and expenses on top.
A reasonable wage would be £35k+ for the above plus N/O and exs.

For specialised work and extra hours i would expect extra pay over and above those figures depending on skills danger competence reqd etc.
