It obviously took a few shunts to get there so unless the walls have moved then a few more shunts should get it out again.
That would be easy enough to do going in the wrong direction which he was obviously going in towards the low bridge and one way system which won’t allow it to be avoided. But not so easy in the opposite direction he needs to go in because the small wall won’t allow the offside rear corner to go back far enough to clear the front nearside corner to allow the turn to the right.IE he’s stuck because of the direction he needs to go not because the wagon can’t be put back where it was to start with.
The best option seems to be to turn it out to the left and then try another U turn a bit nearer to the bridge in the larger entrance space at the end of the road where the other truck is.Although all the entrances there seem to have deliberate obstructions put into them to stop turning trucks.

Coulda just backed into that HUGE gap at the side of him though ?
I’d agree. But i also “think”…
1] he was a new driver to end up in that predicament.
2] the lack of queueing cars tells me that they’ve all gone because he’d blocked the road off.
3] when he initially tried to about turn there where probably vehicles all around him trying to get past him narrowing down his choices of manoevres.

Thats just my guess though.
Or possibly missed seeing the small wall put there to stop such manouvres until he’d got halfway through the U turn.It just needed a few shunts to turn it out to the left and then sort it out from there.

Now I’m even more baffled, this is the hole he could have used just where that woman with the white top is stood (If the link behaves…)
If you rotate, you can see where the tail end was and that brick pillar.

Assuming he’d missed the brick wall put in the middle of the other entrance it’s obvious that entrance is a lot narrower and therefore more aggravation to reverse into and to clear with the tail sweep when turning back out.The best place is where the other truck is turning out at the end of the road.
As well as the one I posted above, this is just about 20 yards up the street, You an still see the brick pillar he was at so surely he could have just reversed back up to this…
Failed U-turn, Shrewsbury has now turned into a Completed U-turn Shrewsbury, safely and with no accident. So now we need to know, how could he have done it better ? There’s a couple of good suggestions so far. Any of you guys got any more ?
Cosmic:
Seems to have a little bit of space behind. Maybe he burnt the clutch out.
Or it’s an auto and he’s bothered about the lack of clutch control ?
Maybe he hasnt got any air and its locked in gear■■?
Possibly, there are plenty of reasons he could have got stuck there. Only reason I said that about auto is because I hate them personally. No control at all over most of them. 'Orrible things
It was a bit tongue in cheek because of the other thread.
Was he on a brake?
Trying to race the daf to try to turn round. realised his time was up so had a cheeky brake as not to let the daf in before him.
It is as you say quite impressive.
