As the title says really i failed this morning for progression… few minors unfortunately turned into a serious. Im absolutely gutted but am not about to dwell on it. Gonna get straight back amongst it and get a re test done…only thing thats gonna hurt me most is shelling out more money as im one tight … anyway any questions from fellow newbies who might want to know owt about going for your test. Feel free to ask
Know how you feel mate, I was angrier than a grizzly bear with a pineapple shoved up my arse when I failed on Tuesday.
Managed to get a retest booked though so just got to keep looking forwards! I got 2 serious though so I must be uber ■■■■!
Seems really easy to ■■■■ up… i was nicely tootling along round the country lanes thinki av cracked this !! Examiner hasnt even touched his pen to paper once. Then i got the roundhay (leeds) quite a busy place and everything just went to pot !! And then i never seen the pen out of his hand after that lol !! I may laugh but i am absolutrly gutted. But what will dwelling on it do ? I cant change the outcome of that test. Just gotta keep plodding on until i pass
ALl the way thrugh my test my examiner didnt even have his folder open with his paper and pen in, he didn’t fill it out until we got back to the test centre. Granted I knew from clipping the kurb I had failed but before that I was actually thinking I was doing OK lol

Quite a few examiners work this way as they try to put the driver at ease by not constantly marking on his paper as he knows that you know the only marks he makes are bad ones.
Well i was still in 2 minds when i got back. I knew i hadnt done anything major. But obviously found out i got 4 minors for progression. Which means a serious. Absolutely horrible feeling though isnt it “sorry to tell you but you havnt passed”

Yeh thats what scrambled my brain too as i knew marking only means youv cocked up
Just to clear up the myth that every time an examiner marks the sheet you’ve made a mistake , it isn’t so. The report you get handed after the test is the DL25(C). This is the 3rd copy down. Not everything he writes on the top copy (a) is designed to copy through.
For example when the truck drives out the gate at the start an examiner will often write something. He is usually noting the exact time to remind him how the hour is progressing.
Every time he asks you to stop at a safe place he will make a mark. This is to remind him how many and which ones have been completed. There are other examples.
Never worry what the examiner is doing/writing. There’s plenty of other things you should be thinking about.
