Failed C+E today

for every newbee like me, my trainer was very clear to me:

if the examiner asks you something like, are you happy to drive now, have you completed your checks, did you finish the procedure or anything similar:

YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN SOMETHING OR YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG

and say no sir, I will check again! Alarm bells should go off, thank you trainer for telling me this very very important tip.

Stick to vans dude. That’s what Beezle would say. And do

What’s that Mullet man■■?
I’ll drive whatever pays the money and gives me the best opportunities pal! So I’m on class 1 at present but maybe about to go back onto class 2 doing tankers.

To the OP - I’m sorry you failed pal, but the examiner did ask if you had forgotten something and you missed the hint. So to try and say you would have realised when you attempted to pull away is just sour grapes. We all screw up from time to time and you just have to take this one on the chin.

Whereas Paul’s mullet is on his head, and not on his chin! :grimacing:

Don’t worry mate, it took me three attempts to pass the test, nerves got me, and a worn out give way line in the road.
Being a farmers son and driving tractors and trailers as a child doesn’t matter for lorries.
You will pass next time, enjoy your Christmas and forget about it.

For cars but same principles for hgv

i stuffed my C+E on the monday did reverse perfectly was chuffed to bits as had issues with it in past stupidly kind of thought job done in head handbrake on then had a doubt so hopped out to check the back end was fully in box and didnt turn the dial back to neutral so Serious fault for the reverse and two minor for the road drive -_- suffice to say a rather large slap has been warmed up and administered to myself

Ouch Carbine! Know how easy that is with an auto box as I did the same thing during the lessons and didn’t even register the beep beep beep, but if you can get it that close on the first attempt then the second one should be a doddle.

I wonder if that could be an unofficial way to check the reversing lights are working? Maybe not in front of the transport manager admittedly.

Unlucky mamil. Better luck next time mate.

In the meantime, continue to look at us Jedi Master Class 1 licence holders, with awe and envy as we keep Britain moving.
