Failed Again

Cat C pass 1st time
Cat C+E
1st attempt fail (reversing)
2nd attempt fail (red light) debatable … as committed on approach
3rd attempt fail ( missed a weight restriction sign on my independent drive (hidden behind an un cut hedge) but accept it as my fault

The question is… Do I borrow money to re- take as I’ve used all my savings… Well Pxxd

Failing 3 times on CE is not the ‘norm’ but it seems you just lose concentration at odd points so I would go for it

Had you always done the same errors every time then I would be more concerned

Keep trying,don’t lose hope.never give up,persevere !

You’ll nail it one fine day mate.

You unlucky person! Have a word with your trainer to see if there’s a deal to be done.

No. 2 …not knocking cause I wasn’t there but was always told expect it to change at the last min so be ready to stop…

No.3… you could appeal go back and take photos if you feel that it was unjust remember though there will be a sign both sides of the road as same as a speed sign ( the golden Goal Posts )

On the + side if that’s all you had wait a week or 2 sort out your frustration then bang in again Good luck ( I past 2nd time round on both car and Class 1) no-ones perfict

Cheers Guys…

Don’t bother appealing an examiners decision. It takes forever and even if you won the appeal which is extremely unlikely as you merely missed a road sign the best you get is a free test fee. The examiner gets investigated and then you have to face him or his colleague next time.

Should you have another go? Of course you’ve come too far to give up. Get back up on the horse.

With traffic lights green is the most dangerous colour. Approach last 30 or so yards with right foot covering footbrake and almost convince yourself that they are about to change. Only when past light return foot to the accelerator.

You passed the Cat C so you know what is needed. Use your skill and MOST importantly CONCENTRATE 100% from start to finish. Practice this art in your car. Read every road sign and road marking and think Could this sign/marking affect my test result.

Good luck

As already been said you come so far it would be a shame to give up. You can’t be far away as your failing on one thing each time. Once you pass your c+e there are a lot more jobs going.

Good luck with what ever you decide to do

Sounds like you are so near, if you stop now all your investment has not got the result you wanted
You will earn it £ back quickly as cat 1 pay is higher, good luck whatever you decide I bet others have been in this position

sorry to hear that m8 chin up,when i took my test i was told if you roll back you have failed no ifs or buts,on my way out of wetherby test centre i rolled back ,that was as soon as the test started ,from then on i thought id failed and just plodded round the test circuit knowing i failed ,got back to the test centre and id passed ,what was all that about ,the tester must have been in a good mood , :unamused:

i rolled back ,that was as soon as the test started

Correct and sensible decision from the examiner IMO. It’s accepted that there is a little tolerance early on in the test. Having said that, I have had folks fail 200 metres from the test centre when pulling out into a gap that wasn’t big enough. But, as long as it’s not awful, you’ll often get away with a little bit for the first 5 minutes.

That, of course, is not official policy and should never be held up as any sort of argument against a fail decision.

I drove up a 40 mph stretch that had previously had new stones laid. They were well bedded in but the 20 mph signs warning of stone chips hadn’t been removed. After a little while the examiner said to me ‘it’s a good job they’re well bedded in now’ with that I sped up to 40. She didn’t fail me for speeding nor did she fail me for undue hesitancy. She was helping me as she could see I wasn’t sure what to do for the best.
I know some schools avoid certain test centres because of examiners that work out of them.

Just got my next test date…Friday 13… that’s 2 weeks since my last test…seems an age ago oh well 4th time lucky■■?

A good way to concentrate and I done it for years is to talk to yourself eg. Petrol station ahead careful vehicles exiting that sort of thing I was a driving instructor with BSM and got pupils to do it you got to see what they did or did not see it seems you lack concentration ,keep going don’t give up

My commiserations mikeys! But don’t give up now, you’re so close!

Even though it hasn’t worked out 3 times now, it doesn’t mean it won’t all come together next time!!!
