If that is a Morrisons Trailer returning to SIttingbourne RDC, one wonders why he didn’t just return on the same route to get out to wherever he just went, such as Crowborough…?
I think the correct route there is M25, A22, A26, which is still a bit hairy in the Heron’s Ghyll area, where you’ll have to drive in the middle of the road to avoid overhanging tree branches - only to have nutters coming at you 50mph+ the other way if you’re not careful…
Come to that, there seems to be a lot of crashed cars up the M40 this weekend?!

This has ALL the hallmarks of that Polish girl who posts her incompetence all over YouTube. “I think I just go for it!”

Lorry crashes into bridge near Tunbridge Wells

So there’s a new job opening at Morrison’s I suppose?

An arched bridge is a bit different. From what I read the min. height is on the sides 3m apart so if you keep dead in the middle you may pull through (not that I would attempt it myself)
That particular bridge on the A26 - would be hard to avoid if you realized only too late that you wouldn’t be able to get under it… Most of the side roads around there - are totally unsuitable for artics let alone double deckers…
There’s a 13’3" bridge on the nearby East-West Groombridge A264 road for instance, whilst the road coming up from the south the A267 just wouldn’t be considered here, as it would have been just too far out of the way for a Kent-West Sussex run, if that’s what it was here of course.
Maybe a look from the reverse angle might help…
Morrisons confirmed, and if that’s the driver standing there - I’d reserve judgement over him even being EE myself…

I have no idea what the standard punishment meted out by Plod would be for such an offence, or even if there is some kind of “Plea Bargain” thing where one admits “driving without due care and attention” rather than something more serious being slapped upon a driver…
1 mile before that bridge is the diversion route for over height vehicles, down Bunny lane on to the A267 which drops you down to the same roundabout the A26 comes down to

Ahh yes. Bunny Lane.
Not very well signposted as the “Official overheight diversion” - is it?
Total…
■■■■ wittery.
Clear warnings of the oncoming bridge.
Clear avoidance route marked.
Clear height indication on the bridge.
Clear last point to reverse to (Summervale Lane) to turn it and go another way.
Clear height warning marker as required by law in the cab.
Clear ■■■■ wit driving.
It is not too difficult to turn round if confronted with that bridge, there is a garden centre within 100yds one side and a turning about 500 yds the other with a simple reverse up to it. Embarrassing yes, but with a little thought and one helpful person achievable.
I certainly agree about Heron’s Gyll, a nasty stretch of road. I don’t see a prosecution resulting from passing an advance warning sign and stopping short, a police bollocking definitely.
Must have missed the signs a mile or two before with the alternative route for high vehicals . Prob just delivered last drop at crowborough . If he would have taken the diversion he would have been fine back to m20 j4
