seriously nice motor!

Hi propa lorry, Remember you well and our conversation about my lorry being on Trucknet and also what you were up to. Because of our conversation I decided to take a look and yes you were right there was my lorry (which I have now found out was taken by Euromat). Here are the photos that I took on the day ENJOY โ€ฆ

Nice to hear from you and hopefully will see you all againโ€ฆlet me know if you do your tour again Cheers Ady.

im curious, was this truck ever in a magazine? i remember a story about a guy who broke down with one of those and was towed by another hauler to there yard where the truck was temp fixed to get it home!

adrian your motor really is the muts nutz id gladly swap the fh i drive now for a good f12 globetrotter.what kms has it done mate i drive an 02 reg fh thats done 1million 8thousand kms and it does miss a beat still not a patch on your motor mind

Your not the 1st driver ive heard say they would take back an F series Volvo over an FH, they pulled that screen back too far to make any space advantage over the old model. I preferd the old F12s, a good place to spend the workin day. If your reading this Adrian, the Motor looks lovely, not ott, just right. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Is it just me or does that Payne F88 look like a right dogs dinner?

I donโ€™t remember seeing any that looked like that when they were working lorries, considering the current H E Payne fleet look very nice it makes me wonder why this looks so wrong, when if it was in his own livery it would look the biz

Hi from Ireland Adrian  .

I donโ€™t really like Volvoโ€™s anymore but yourโ€™s is something else. Discretely done and a nice colour too. What year is it? I think the square cab design on your truck is not to be tampered with but unfortunately Volvo have messed that up now. Whatโ€™s the inside like,im not bothered if itโ€™s dolled up ,just fancy a peek. Once again what a nice truck well done.

newmercman your not wrong it needs to loose the big chequerplate headboard thing for starters he paynes asg 141 is a much nicer truck

I just noticed that, itโ€™s a headache rack, they use them over in the US & Canada to hang chains & the like on & because the majority of flats donโ€™t have headboards, bit pointless with a fridge :open_mouth: As I said it would look much better in a period version of his own livery, I can almost see it lined up alongside one of his FHs at Truckfest, itโ€™d make a nice contrast.

The Alcoas need to go too, along with the rear wings, the silly step box in front of the air tanks & the Eminox.

I do like his 141 though, he has done that exactly how it wouldโ€™ve been when new, even having a trailer made for it.

Your dead right newmercman i had a few 88s and a 89 and we had a bit of furniture on them but nothing like that at 32 t with all that iron work a tandam fridge he would get more on a twin wheel transit the scania looks well propa the volvo looks like billy bolt on

Hi Ellies Dad, the year of the truck is 1992 and the livery is in BMW chamonis. The lorry came out of Volvo in 1992 in Volvo white and was painted this colour around 10 years ago. We had the front resprayed about 2 years ago and it still needs a touch up on the roof and chassis, this will hopefully be done next year. I will try to take some photos of the interior for you its quite basic really as you can imagine for a truck of its year, with the only improvement being seat covers. Someone asked about the mileage, I cannot even remember how many times it has gone around the clock!!! but, its on 750,000 kms now and still going strong.

Its a credit to ya,looks great, must take a bit of keeping like that.
would love to drive that. :sunglasses:

Used to show trucks before whilst I worked for Pat Pallet of Nailstone so have a few tricks up my sleeve. I also use my time when I am parked up giving the old gal a polishโ€ฆI try to keep a clean outfit.
