Are there any Saunders drivers from the '50s still out there? Did one of your relatives drive for them, or work for them in any capacity during that period?
I’m researching the classic British trucking film, ‘Hell Drivers’ (1957), and would like to hear from anyone associated with Saunders in those days. I’ve been told that the company supplied three Kew-Dodge tippers for the filming (alongside the seven others from W.W.Drinkwater).
If it helps to jog any memories (or if they show up on old photos), one of these wagons was registered, UMG 853. Don’t have serial numbers for the other two, but they both ended with the letters JMC.
