jj72:
i posted all these on the old forums cos i asked for a list from the IRU which explained them but can the hell i find it now - think it was milk products, or was than an “a” will keep looking anyway
I think the ‘A’ stands for 'Alimentari,'and shows the truck is carrying foodstuffs.
thanks Neil, that makes sense for the D
Fresh Milk is allowed at any time but fresh cream isnt

You’ve asked this on the Euro forum so I’m guessing you mean “FRC” and you run a Reefer trailer to and from the continent under ATP rules ?
I hope I’m right, otherwise I’m wasting my time with all this info., but here goes…
This is the firm that you need:
www.crtech.co.uk
click onto ATP and then Guide to ATP
If you read through that it will tell you all about the test application form, fees and preparation needed, etc.before submission at the Cambridge test facility - and it’s the only place in Britain, by the way.
**FRC is a standard of thermal efficiency attained after controlled testing - (FRB and FNA are others, but not quite so ‘cool’
) - that are recognised for the issue of an ATP certificate in the UK.
On the front offside top corner of the trailer will be a series of letters and numbers which show the standard and expiry date of the current test. The first one or two numbers are the month and the rest are the year.
e.g. FRC72008 is July 2008.
FRC122010 is December 2010. - You get the idea.
Right, hands up all of you who ever wondered what those letters and numbers on nearly every reefer trailer were for ■■
I don’t know if you can see or not but my hand is up.
