Yeh, I once had a pint in ‘The Blind Beggar’ where Ronnie shot George Cornall, …but they were long gone by then, …80/81 ish.
I used to know an old driver who told everybody he once spilled beer on Reg’s shoes and lived to tell the tale after apologising and offering to buy him a drink.

Hi lads a lot of people out of work at moment but im chocker block is the relax hours the same extended till approx end of may ■■ Can u still do a 11 hour drive once then a 10 then 9s is the fortnightly drive still at 96 instead of 90 ? Wish lockdown was over coz all i ve been doing is working flat out great money but lot of hoursI’m curious to know where you’re going to be doing 11 hours driving in a day ?
Guessing Amazon, parcel companies wanting to use 1 driver for a two man job, usual suspects.
Doesn’t apply to Tangs, as 11hour drive is only half a shift…
Were there any Amazon “double manned” jobs - beforehand though?
We know about Van Drivers being run-ragged - but Artic drivers??
In any case, if you are paid by the hour, the firm isn’t going to be so keen to keep you out for the sake of keeping you out - are they?
If you’re “Paid by the shift” on the other hand, then you might then expect a 13-15-13-15-13-15 hours shift pattern on week ‘A’…
Even if you’re “Salaried” , I wouldn’t be surprised if firms tried to get you to work towards six shifts per week and over 10 hours per shift to earn that flat money…
Isn’t it about time that “Overtime” was defined in LAW as part of the NMW legislation?
I mean like “Any hours over 35 are overtime” and “overtime must be paid at a premium rate to flat hours - except when specifically defined otherwise in one’s original contract”.
If we don’t ever ask for stuff like this of our MPs - we won’t ever get it - will we?
