Explosive bridge strike

I’m surprised nobody has posted this yet:

That is some distance from the bridge…

Doesn’t look like it hit the bridge to me, all the concentration and damage is well below the top of the trailer and the top doesn’t look damaged.

Did he spin it and catch power lines causing fire ?

“The fire service said they found that the vehicle’s trailer – which contained perfumes and aerosols – had come unhitched, was well alight and the aerosols were exploding.”

Or the driver had actually dropped the trailer to save the tractor unit.

From the RS Recovery Facebook page:

A bit of a messy one for our lads today. A unit and trailer struck a low bridge. On this occasion the trailer was loaded with aerosol products. Once the impact occurred it caused a series of reactions resulting in the trailer becoming engulfed in flames as well as the load spilling across the carriageway.

The fire service dealt with their responsibilities quickly and we were asked to remove the vehicle and load. Our first task was to remove the top deck of the trailer as it was unsafe for travel after the impact it has occurred. We cleared the load from the carriageway using grab wagons from a local supplier and flat packed the trailer to make it safe for travel back to the customer’s yard. Credit to our lads for their hard work. Adam, Dan and Steve… Thank you for your graft if definitely didn’t go un-noticed

Is that wrecker really going to try and drag that big pile of debris and twisted metal away?

The guy walking around - must be looking for somewhere to attach the towbar to… :stuck_out_tongue:
