If you can handle a full WEEK of induction (slideshow after slideshow after slideshow)
Then you’re a better man than me!
Or maybe I’m old fashioned & I can’t suffer this induction bollox, especially a week of it!!

U did more than a day for them Dozy ! I’m sure I’ve spoken to u in the yard I’m based at ■■? I remember speaking to a lad with some very smiliar story’s and gripes about the job .
Regards inductions I’m sure they have made it less tedious think it’s 3 days ish now but don’t quote me … job wise it’s like any job it has it ups and downs but there’s a lot worse out there to work for !

Maybe it is 3 days now, last Sept/Oct it was deffo a full week.
By Thursday I’d jacked, (lost the will to live!!) how much h & s & corporate bollox can you possibly endure??
We sub for them sometimes. Alright once you get used to their ways. Most of it city centre construction. Welfare facilities are good and tackle is new and in good nick.
They never talk to you like crap. Parking is paid.
Obviously all flat work.
Some loads can be a faff and there’s always some sitting about with loads not ready or sites slow to tip.
They changed contracts a while ago.
Used to be Monday to Fri but new starters are different. Not sure exactly. Think some do Tues to sat ?
Pretty sure it’s salaried.

I’ve just been offered a position with these. Still trying to find out what money drivers are taking home every week. I’ve also been offered a job on transporters so I’m a little undecided what to go for.
I imagine that it’s about the same as WS. For Sun-Thu tramping I was taking home about £590-630pw.
Car transporters and flats are two rather different things! Both are hard work, so which one do you actually want to do?

no I mean induction , I did a day at Steetley with I’m sure a Irish lass , it’s starting to fade but it was only 1 day in a classroom , I was on the work for a couple of years at a guess , they keep asking me now but for reasons I can’t go into I won’t .

Interesting. I take home about £150 a week less than that, but I’m away 4 days , home 4 days.
£600 a month is a big hit to take, but the time off, and the shorter time away, makes a huge difference to ones home/social life.
Being home for 4 days every week is something that must be experienced to appreciate. And if you do an extra day every week (taking you to a ‘normal’ 5 day week), you still get 3 days off.
I never realised how short that ‘2 day weekend’ really is untill I started 4on-4 off.

4/4 is something that’s in my mind at the moment. My partner is going to be swapping onto to 4/4 and we’re thinking about matching our shifts. Money is a consideration for the short term, but once we can make it work that’s probably what we will do.
I enjoyed the 5/3 5/2 I did at Downton. Mon-Fri is a bit of a drag now that I’m doing it.
