Where are certain members on here getting their info about EGR and SCR from?EGR,correctly said earlier does stand for Exhaust Gas Recirculation,but this certainly does not cool combustion chambers or cylinders,this system allows a small amount of exhaust gas back into the induction side of the engine,but this is to allow the engine to reach it’s normal operating temperature much more quickly,thus reducing the emissions from cold start sooner.
As for SCR,this system uses Ad Blu injected into the exhaust system to further reduce emissions,and has no cooling effect whatsoever!
Personally,i think Ad Blu is an expensive and totally un-necessary extra put on trucks in the name of so called enviromental protection.
Bolllox it reduces the amount of oxygen into the charge air as exhaust gas is “inert” therfore the diesel injected is reduced which lowers combustion temperatures to lower oxygen/nitrogen combination.The engine can only take in its swept volume at plus at most one bar from the blower.Where do these people get this ■■■■■■
The EGR valve is even water cooled to lower the exhaust gas temperature to help[ cool the cylinders.
the old Gardner 180 never had all this junk attached.

Putting anything other than AdBlue in the AdBlue tank is creating potential problems.Just as it would if you put washer fluid in your engine because the oil level was low.
