Here’s some pictures taken at RNAS Culdrose Air Day on Wednesday. I was supposed to be there shooting the air displays, but I thought I’d take a few pics that would be appreciated here too while I was at it
The biggest Corgi model you'll ever see.
The Corgi Roadshow.
Rolls Royce exhibit trailer packing up to go home.
J.G. Leisure's Venturer Simulator.
Anderton and Rowlands special.
A different angle on the same unit.
Even I haven't got the patience to edit out that orange stuff, sorry :unamused:
That's a big Meccano set.
Silly boy, the trailer goes on the *other* end.
Alvis Unipower RIV (Rapid Intervention Vehicle).
No speed limiters here I bet
Most of the Navy's interesting vehicles were hiding down the other end of the airfield,
so here's a shot from a previous year of a Carmichael MFV, doing a high speed run down the runway.
... and some RIVs in action.
That’s all for now folks, if you’re interested in seeing the aircraft pics then some will probably pop up on my blog at some point over the next few days once I’ve had time to post-process them.
It’s done in HTML, tables inside tables, like this for example …
That all needs to go on one line with no breaks or spaces, otherwise it messes it up on here. There are easier ways, but that works pretty much everywhere and doesn’t need the picture file to be modified, I just copy and paste it to save typing it all in each time I use it.
The white ERF is formerly Greenaways of Bude. Knew the fellah who drove it. sound as a pound. Hope things are better for him now. The green E reg with the Kernewek plate is not in colours that make any sense. I thought of Brian Harris at first but not sure. Great pics, Aimee.
Great quality snaps aimee.
Re Meccano Sets. I drove a 3 axle Maggie truck for SCA with a 20 box semi trailer which was coupled to one of those Meccano sets. at first it looked like a 4 wheel trailer but if you wanted to drop it you had to get a HGV bottle jack between the fifth wheel coupling and the trailer chassis. Then pump until it was the right hight to release the trailer jaws on the truck. The ground had to be dead level or you could never couple up again. They dont make them like that anymore. But having said that the old Maggie had double drive & locks on both axles & would fly over Mont Blanc in the deepest snow.
I didn’t think he did, but I don’t recall Nick buying ERFs at that time. He was heavily into Mercs by then and just waiting for his first Strato. I will have to find out as it’s annoying me now.

The green one could be Sid Knowles of Mabe. Green cab and red running gear are his colours and he always was a big ERF fan. Running bulkers.
Just my tuppence worth!
