Examiner refused to give feedback on fail

Another four really useful posts, thanks all. It’s so great to have a better handle on how they work and also how to deal with those lanes!

Peter Smythe:

If there are three lanes and two turn right with the arrows covered by other traffic then the examiner knows you do not have xray vision so should inform you of how many lanes turn right - at least that seemed to be the practice at the test centers I used

That might be useful to those wondering

Good point and applies with us certainly. But doesn’t negate the need to read road signs in advance of the junction when they are in place.

Pete

Interesting point this bit. When I did C I had to move test centres due to my local being refurbished, wasn’t bothered as I knew area but obviously not that well as didn’t live there.

I remember when doing the ’ independent drive’ bit I was unsure of a particular junction and it was two lanes right but then the outer right became a straight on and other went off to some village street.

Think it was flukey I was in far right lane so ended up in correct one to go straight on. Examiner certainly didn’t off any help in that scenario. Maybe he thought I knew what I was doing !

Making me wonder when I do CE if I’ll end up in a mess as I certainly don’t know Mansfield area !!

Can’t wait!

To OP- unfortunate events lead to a fail but I’m sure you’ll nail it next time and laugh to yourself over it when on first run on your own
