Not all authorities have passed on Data, there is no mention of my old village in Yorkshire and I know several fatalities in the area. It is a scary site though. I knew 7 of the people named in Derby area now!
The researchers found that van drivers and truckers involved in a crash are amongst the most likely to have either a motoring offence or a criminal record.
Well yeah, if you drive for a living of course your more likely to a motoring offence.
Interesting to note that if you scroll down the length of any motorway there are fatalities at every junction , and we all know what happens with uneducated or arrogant drivers joining or leaving motorways at junctions don’t we
Time for some public education advertisments I say

And the criminal record? We can’t all be Cliff fans after all. Fascinating site though. I suspect many will be checking on fatalities they have known.
Quite amazing the fact the ampount of pedestrians that are killed and then also the amount of over 60’s who are in the cars die, many whom are over 70.
look on the bright side, theres around 700,000 babies born every year so no worries about humans becoming extinct in the uk

BBC FAQ:
With regard to the missing incidents, there are 86 fatal collisions in the police data that have incomplete information. For this reason, we have been unable to include them in the map.The BBC apologises for any distress or offence that any inaccurate information may cause.
Thats quite alarming for me. It brings home how many fatals I’ve attended, more than I’d remembered!
BBC’s website of death:
…the police figures do not reflect the full scale of death and injury on the roads. Many incidents go unreported.
Eh?
Injuries yes, but unreported deaths?
It probably comes as no surprise to most but its either the young or very old or bikers that seem to die the most.
I am very suspicious of the data as there is an accident listed on the A64 near me that was in June and it says “it was snowing”. Right.

You can only educate those that wish to learn. Most of the drivers you refer to probably don’t see anything wrong with their driving and therefore do not feel that they have anything to learn.
