Eventually someone has given me a chance

So I had been booked in at Fowler Welch as they were going to put me on there insurance as only passed class 1 on the 1st August, so went in for my assessment got the keys did my walk round checks and was waiting for the driving assessor to come back when he did got told they’d made an error and that I had to have 2 years experience before I could work for them. To say I was gutted was an understatement was all for just sticking with my current desk job and forgetting about it. Spoke with my friend who said an agency called H&G were looking and I should give them a call. I have to say they were soooo helpful and understanding they got me booked in with Clipper Logistics who said they would give me a chance. So my first shift was on Wednesday night when I got to the transport office I had it all explained to me basically the transport director had to beg the insurance company to give me a chance and they were only happy to insure me if I had there assessor ex police do a full run with me mark me in a test format and do a full written report. All went without to much hassle got 2 minors for left mirror checks and 1 for a late indicate did both bay reverses within 2 shunts and he was very impressed so I have my first shift tonight on my own the kit is all brand new and I m properly excited. H & G were great aswell had about 5 phone calls Thursday telling me well done and getting me booked in for the whole weekend will get some pics up later of my unit and trailer

Nice one Stanny well done, I’m back out bank hol monday, can’t wait!

Congrats pal!

As already said, be careful about what you say once you have named your employer.
You will probably be fine as long as it’s positive, but that’s not guaranteed!

Best of luck in the next few weeks, as once you have a bit of experience things get easier…

Because that one’s new pal, and hasn’t had much time for all the bits to fall off! :grimacing:

And if you love it that much, I can see that fuel tank could do with a polish!

Lol fair point I would gladly polish it if I drove the same one each night but so far I ve had a different one each night

Wow a brand newun you’re lucky. I find ivecos have great engines and transmissions but you can see where they’re cut costs to sell them fairly cheaply.

100% agree it’s nice and smooth too drive and has plenty of power I think the styling is quite nice too. But yes some of parts are a bit cheap and flimsy I like to compare it to a Vauxhall (I have one of those too) not too bad when new but is never going to last.
