Notice how the artic doesn’t move off its line at any point. It’s the rigid that’s ‘setting the pace’, moving slowly from one of the reference lines to the other. And notice how the camera vehicle moves slowly to the left (viewer’s perspective) to follow the changing mid point of the trucks to give the impression that they are both moving apart simultaneously!
Without wishing to question the difficulty of this stunt, it’s clearly as much about technical and choreographic aspects as it is about Mr Van Damme’s splits
