EV sales Booming year on year

New rules come into force today regards the government plug in grant for BEV’s , It’s been reduced from £2500 to £1500 & the cap reduced from £35000 to £32000. The rules have changed for PHEV’s too, Previously they had to cover a distance of 50 miles on electric power only (still no PHEV can do that distance) they now have to be able to cover a distant of 70 miles and have emissions less than 50g/km :open_mouth: . :open_mouth:

These new rules basically mean no new BEV’s apart from the base model Renault Zoe & the base model VW id3 will make it under the new limit…I suppose the Tory party have to raise some funds to pay for the upcoming fines for the Christmas party. :grimacing:

Never heard of her, and care less about her deluded thinking.

That’s what they said about Barbara Castle …
before she imposed a 70 mph limit on our nice new, expensive, three lane, better than autobahn standard, motorways.

70 mph is perfectly adequate for our motorways, it’s just a shame that Audi driving tossers can’t get their big heads around this though they might when they can only drive electric Audi’s and the need to conserve the energy in the time consuming to charge battery becomes apparent, might not be a bad thing actually

Ironically there’s really no need for the big straight six Zodiac/Triumph/Westminster/Cresta for 70 mph max let alone three lanes of motorway standard road.
I can remember such being driven at around the ‘ton’ on the Kingston By Pass even after the 70 limit.Who needs a Cobra on the M1.
While I only really learn’t to drive on the German autobahns while French and Italian motorways were generally better quality and…even faster before the fast rail interests ended the Party.
