Euxton again !!!

   I can confirm that the bridge is 13 feet. Also that, if you approach it from the South, it’s a bl**dy long way to reverse before you can turn around.

Correct a very long way  there is a bridge near work that I know is 14.9 but for some strange reason it is now marked 14.3 no idea why road hasn’t been resurfaced and it’s not been hit, but that bridge at Euxton must be one of the best signposted in the country.

I know, I know, after almost fifty years you’d have thought I’d have known better!

I wasn’t having a pop old ■■■■ come up on bridges as well and had to turn around or reverse, just saying it’s well signposted.

He could have gone through loaded no problem, came out empty and the ride height has gone up?

Just a thought, 4 Meters is fine for most tractors and I have seen plenty of 4M fridges about

But the bridge cannot be 4.0 and 13 ft

the maoster:

Snowgo:
13 ft 3 inch is 4m 4cm. Theres a bridge between the a52 and easton cold store that is marked at 13’ 3 , and i reckon our 13’3 trailers would no where near fit through.

I work out of that coldstore and tbh you can get 13’6 under that bridge, the problem is it’s an arch bridge with a sharp bend going into it and a sharp bend coming out of it and you need to be dead central to fit through. We’re warned not to use it, but there have been occasions when the A1 has been shut where we’ve had no option (short of not leaving/coming back to the yard). But hit it at your peril is what we’re quite rightly told.

Been under that bridge many many times with Padley trl’s that were marked 13’ 6", southbound, you just gotta line up straight for it.

And that is the true answer to why we aren’t paid the same as doctors etc

This one looks like a candidate for the “Stupid bridge markings” award too.

Signposted 4.0M - 13’ 3"

Now most of the euro trucks are 4m due to the height limits over the water, BUT I really can not see one getting through there?

It used to say 4.1 mtrs, It’s about 1 mile away from me, and I’ve assisted a good number of HGV’s to reverse back. from the south, back up into the car park of the railway pub. From the north, back up to the lay-by at the top of the slope, but now there’s a nice new road opposite that lay-by to use.

Then again, the blackwall is 4M and I have seen a few european bendy’s go through that

Nearly got stuck under the bridge on the A530 Nantwich Rd, the one with the Shropshire Union canal going over it. Doing holiday cover for a bulk haulage firm. Tipped at Mornflake reload at Winsford. Crack on up A530 missed turning on left to avoid low bridge  round the corner :open_mouth: no way back because of traffic, F@£k it  Scania and bulk tipper went through with about the thickness of a ■■■ packet.
