going to italy via france leaving 9th May. be in italy from 11th may until 31st May travelling various places in Italy. Just wondered any bank holidays,driving time restrictions etc

On a normal week, there are no restrictions, Monday to Saturday in Italy.
There is the usual driving ban on Sunday and the holiday driving bans. On these days you will not be allowed to drive from midnight to midnight, these times are obviously in C.E.T.
Additionally, during certain times of the year, there are driving bans on Saturdays in France and Germany. If you’re only doing this one trip these won’t affect you, as far as I remember. If this is the first of a regular trip to Italy they will, because you won’t be able to get to or exit Italy on those days.

I was lead to believe that friday evenings from 6 till 10 pm trucks where not allowed on the motorways.

are you on about roads around Paris? I know there are some restrictions there, but I don’t know of any other places
